Last month we embarked on the launch of our new interior fabrics with our first stand at Decorex in Olympia, London which was an amazing experience.
We have been so busy recently sending out our samples and following up with all our new clients from the show that we haven’t really had a chance to reflect on what an incredible experience it was for us. So we thought we'd do a quick blog post about it to remind ourselves of the event.
A few of us have buying backgrounds so are quite familiar with trade fairs although we've never been quite this hands on from the supplier side of the fence before!
It was quite the shock to turn up to our little white shell of a stand on set up day and try and imagine what it could become....
...and so the work began, starting with painting (so glad we didn't listen to the paint man and bought double the amount just in case!) and after a lot of drilling and elbow grease things started to take shape....
As we emptied the van and started to fill our space, the roughly sketched plan from our studio began to emerge in real life, incredibly, pretty much as we'd planned.
Team work makes the dream work - those compulsory high vis jackets really are something else.
And then, amazingly, it all came together!
We put some of Juliette's artwork on one of the walls to show clients where the fabric designs started from, which was very well received, everyone loves a design story and to understand the heritage of the product. We also had some sketchbooks on display from Juliette's archive to explain her design process and how each of the fabric designs were developed,
